Stickerboy

Stickerboy is a game I made with Facundo Balboa (Monoflauta) for a german company. Gameplay consists of an endless scrolling background in which the user must paste the stickers of said company whenever he passes by an open business.

Our client wanted us to take inspiration from the old hit game "Paperboy", so we set out to work on an endless runner with similar music (composed by our teammate Patricio Maffud), where the user must avoid hazards while pasting stickers.

For the artstyle, I chose clean vector-like graphics, so that we could give our game a fresh look (even though the game was still a sort of remake of the '80s classic by Atari). Our client initially expected us to reproduce the game more or less the same as the old, but also agreed with this and we carried on with the look that would become final.

We worked on the game for a couple of months and produced two versions: one for the Play Store, which marked my first game delivered to mobile, and another for web browsers that can be played on Itch.io or our beloved Newgrounds, where we also added leaderboards and achievements.

The game was recieved positevely on all platforms and, even though it's still a simple endless runner, we were very happy with our work in the end. The client was also satisfied with the product we made, so it was an all around win-win for everyone.
